Following a career in arts management, teaching English in Italy and performance/life coaching, I am graduating this year (2024) with a B.A. (Hons) in Fine Art from Ulster University. I guess this is unusual as I never painted anything before the age of 60. Where did it come from? Who knows. But there’s hope for everyone wanting a second life! Most of the work I’ve featured on this website was part of my final year practice which hovered between abstraction and figuration. The dissolution of form became a fascination for me and I focused this around raven, wolf and lily motifs. I tend to paint intuitively, using large, gestural brush strokes and my hope is always that my work will resonate in some way with the viewer.
